Bio
Dr. Uzo Nwankpa is a multidisciplinary performing artist, educator, dance facilitator, researcher, and community health nurse whose work bridges art, healing, and scholarship. An Assistant Professor at Samuel Merritt University’s College of Nursing, she earned BS and MS degrees in nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice focused on communal healing. Founder of the Uzo Method Project and developer of the RICHER model, she advances indigenous and ancestral healing practices through performance ritual, storytelling, and experiential installations. Dr. Nwankpa is also committed to harnessing technology as a global public health solution, envisioning digital platforms that can deliver wellness practices, cultural healing frameworks, and supportive tools to a billion healthcare workers worldwide, ensuring resilience, equity, and holistic wellbeing in healthcare systems.
