Bio
Dr. Daria Penionzhkevich Dega is an accomplished gallery director, award-winning artist, curator, educator, and healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience in art, management, and medicine. She is the Owner and Director of Degallery (2016–present), an international gallery and studio in Bryan, Texas, and the Founder and President of the nonprofit DEGA International Art Association Inc. (2019–present). Through these platforms, she created global initiatives including DEGART VisiON, the DEGART International Grand Art Event, and the Happy DEGART International Kids Art Contest, fostering artistic exchange and education worldwide.
Her academic background bridges the arts and sciences. She holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Rehabilitation Medicine and Public Health, an M.D. in Medical Care, a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences and Clinical Residency in Neurology, and a Graduate Certificate in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In the arts, she earned a Master of Arts in Art (Northwestern State University of Louisiana) and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies (Harvard University, Extension School), where she is continuing her graduate school program. Before transitioning to the arts, she led public health initiatives in Moscow, serving as Head of the Department of Public Health in Odintsovo District. In the U.S., her artwork has been widely exhibited and awarded in painting, mixed media, and sculpture. Beyond her creative practice, Dr. Dega contributes to cultural life as President of the Texas A&M University Women’s Club and as a board member of multiple art and professional organizations.
