Liz Maheer

Licensed Therapist

Bio

Liz Maher is a Licensed Professional Counselor living outside of Boulder, Colorado. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Painting in 2004, and spent her twenties pursuing a career as a fine artist. She graduated from Naropa University in 2015 with an MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Art Therapy. Liz spent her formative clinical years at the Boulder Vet Center, working with combat veterans, and then at Boulder County Jail working with incarcerated clients. She currently operates a private practice and specializes in Post traumatic Stress Disorder, Complex Grief, and Neurodivergence, all through the lens of somatically grounded art therapy. Liz maintains her work as a multimedia artist and muralist, and tries very hard to impart the skills of creative expression and emotional intelligence to her 4 year old daughter and her teenage stepsons.
